This Fairmont is awesome. Look how boring it is. It looks like what would happen if blue cheese dressing was a car.
but it hides a secret. Atho not a shocking one if you know abotu Fox bodies.
A ford 5.0 and a T56 manual trans. The d ashboard is out of Mustang GT as well which is kind neat.
The seller is only asking 3500 which I’d say is a steal.
its a text book sleeper, all it needs now is a bottle.

That is a proper sleeper and a nice price.

Nice. The wheels do hint at what lies beneath.

“They” always say you shouldn’t buy someone else’s project. “They” are, in this case, wrong.

But they aren’t flashy. Even being Mustang wheels they still look pretty grandma spec

I grew up peeling myself off the vinyl seats of a red Ford Fairmont.

I too have fond memories of a red vinyl seat but for me it was a Buick Century

True - and for that reason I like it.
Also I want to say that the 302 was available in the Fairmont at some point, probably a weaker version than the Mustang got.

I couldn’t say all the V8 ones I’ve seen mention a swap. The rest have in-line 6s.

Wikipedia says the 302 (weak sauce 1 40 hp - 2bbl probably, and slush box only) was offered for a few years, then replaced by a 255 Windsor that I don’t remember existing. Apparently the 2. 3 was also offered, and even a 2. 3 turbo.
But the vast majority had an I6. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the flesh that didn’t have that engine originally.
